The Transport Topics Top 100 For-Hire Carriers is a listing of the largest trucking companies in North America.
This annual publication ranks companies based on annual revenue and includes a listing of operating units and description of services, names of top executives and type of ownership, plus data on the number of employees and equipment.
The Top 100 presentation also features a listing of carriers by sector, including truckload and dedicated, refrigerated, less-than-truckload, flatbed and heavy specialized, intermodal and drayage, package and courier, household goods and commercial delivery, motor vehicle and driveaway, tank and bulk, air and expedited and mail.
Most of the data comes from survey responses sent by individual companies to Transport Topics, or from their public financial filings. It was compiled with assistance from S.J. Consulting Group, which provided revenue estimates for some companies. Those with unchanged year-over-year revenues are estimates based on information carried over from last year’s publication. The mail sector was sourced from Culhane Meadow’s Top U.S. Postal Service Suppliers for Fiscal Year 2021.
